It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend, Chairman & inspiration for South Stack Ynys Lawd Ltd, John Cave MBE.
It was Johns enthusiasm to bring the Thomas Lingham Lifeboat back from France and to start the Restoration Project that brought us together, to tender for, and succeed in the running of South Stack Lighthouse and Visitor Centre. Our aims under his chairmanship were to ensure that the lighthouse reopened to the public, and that any monies raised would go towards the Thomas Lingham project and other local worthy causes, especially those associated with the youth and heritage of our area. His contribution to the community of Holyhead & Anglesey, and of course Dun Laoghaire, Greenore & Greystones in Ireland is immeasurable. He will be greatly missed by all in the community, which is confirmed by the messages received since his passing, and his many friends throughout the town. Our thoughts are with his wife, Margaret, daughter Sue and family.
As a mark of respect for our Chairman John Cave MBE, the lighthouse & visitor centre will be closed on Tuesday 26th June 2018.
